Over the next few weeks (23rd January to 10th March) a series of water supply interruptions will get under way in the City Centre area to faciliate the installation of District Meter Areas (read more).
These works are an essential part of Galway City Council's water conservation effort (read more) and will assist greatly in the reduction of leakage across the City.
- There will be a total of 19 water supply interruptions, in the City Centre area;
- Each interruption will last between 3 and 6 hours;
- The water supply interruptions will only affect portions of the City Centre at any one time.
- The areas to be affected in the coming week will be shown on the map opposite;
- Water supply will be interrupted in off peak times only (Mon - Wed 7pm - 6am);
- In the week prior to works each household & business will receive a notification;
- Businesses will receive a further notification 24 - 48hrs prior to any shut down, detailing exact times and dates;
- All water supply interruptions will be advertised on Galway bay FM;
